PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT (W2/W3)

You will represent the areas of production management, supply chain management and factory organization within the engineering sciences, linking various subject areas in your research. As the future holder of this position, you will implement research and transfer focal points of the overall optimization of production processes, including supply chain management and product lifecycle management, ideally taking into account digital modeling and the use of artificial intelligence methods. While you will deal with theoretical, methodological and applied issues from production and logistics, you will also be expected to be willing to cooperate across disciplines. In this sense, you will be able to provide appropriate impetus to further develop the school´s profile areas in accordance with its mission, e.g. in the fields of "Digital Transformation" or "Responsible Management".

You publish in outstanding quality in nationally and internationally recognized journals, have established networks in science and practice and, if possible, relevant experience in industry. You have an independent research concept, develop research perspectives and initiate projects that are outstanding in your field. In addition, you promote professional and constructive discourse with leading academic insitutions and practice partners in your network and create an inspiring and engaging research and teaching-learning environment. You have experience in successfully applying for third-party funding, ideally you have successfully acquired third party funding on your own, preferably from renowned funding programs (e.g. DFG, EU or comparable), as well as in research collaborations with industry.

You will take over the existing Production Management working group within the Institute of Production Technology and Systems. This offers you the opportunity to contribute directly to existing projects, e.g. "Transformation through Innovation and Cooperation in Communities". You will have the opportunity to further develop this working group in line with your research concept, which should make a significant contribution to the Institute's research profile in terms of a holistic product development process. You share the idea of the university as an educational community and facilitate academic cooperation within the institute, the school of management and technology and the university as a whole. You are a team player and show recognizable potential for leadership responsibility with regard to the tasks of a professorship, ideally you have experience in leading research teams/working groups.

You have a very good command of English and are demonstrably able to teach courses in English. If you do not speak German, you are ready and willing to learn it within a reasonable period.

The professorial position will be filled in accordance with pay grade W2/W3 (university full professorship). Formal requirements are based on § 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG) and include a university degree and a doctoral degree in (industrial) engineering or a discipline relevant to the open position; your pedagogical and didactic aptitude confirmed by experience and the use of innovative forms of teaching; your ability to engage in independent academic research  as demonstrated by the outstanding quality of your dissertation, and additional academic achievements, obtained, i.e. in the course of being an assistant professor, during your postdoctoral lecture qualification (German: Habilitation) or other achievements recognized as being equivalent to a postdoctoral qualification.
