If so, the Stanford Center on Longevity is currently seeking a full-time Social Science Research Professional for a 12- month fixed-term role.
The Stanford Center on Longevity is an independent research laboratory with the mission of redesigning long life. The Center studies the nature and development of the human life span, looking for innovative ways to use science and technology to solve the problems of people over 50 by improving the well-being of people of all ages. The Center’s mission is to accelerate and implement scientific discoveries, technological advances, behavioral practices, and social norms so that century long lives are healthy and rewarding.
To inspire change on a grand scale, SCL works with Stanford faculty, their students and research staffs, as well as leaders from industries that are poised to distribute innovative products and services to the public, thought leaders who help to shape the ideas that influence cultural change, and policy makers who target important challenges and opportunities for long lived societies.
By fostering dialogue and collaborations among typically disconnected worlds, the Center aims to develop workable solutions for urgent issues confronting the world as the population ages. POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary assignment of this Social Science Research Professional will be to support the Principal Investigator and Senior Research Professional in operating a global university design challenge and a newly launched series of year-long research projects into specific areas of longevity.
This Social Science Research Professional at the Stanford Center on Longevity will support the research, writing and conference planning needs of this project and the Center generally. This includes conducting and compiling research, conducting interviews to understand current programs and policy, contributing writing, and creating graphics for internal and external communications including short memos, draft articles, and papers, briefing charts, talking points, social media channels, speeches, web content and formal reports.
The successful candidate must be able to work as part of a research team with senior staff of the Center. Other administrative tasks include conference planning, and general administrative assistance. This position reports to a Senior Research Professional at the Center.

Bachelor of Arts degree in an applicable social science related field, or combination of education and relevant experience in an applicable social science.

May be required to work non-standard, extended or weekend hours on occasion. This position will be based on the Stanford campus.
WORK STANDARDS:
The expected pay range for this position is $27.40 to $36.54 per hour.
