Visiting Researcher Grants 2024

Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA) invites applications for six Visiting Researcher Grants.

• Visiting Researcher Grants (max. DKK 400,000 each)

Applications can be in any research field within diabetes, metabolism or endocrinology.

These grants include salary costs, travel and accommodation expenses for international senior researchers within diabetes, metabolism or other endocrinology fields who visit Danish research groups during 2025 and 2026 (up to a maximum of DKK 400,000 in total).

The visiting researcher grants may also be further enhanced by separate application for a DDEA Strategic Partnership PhD scholarship or DDEA Strategic Partnership Postdoctoral Fellowship, if relevant.

In order to apply for a Visiting Researcher Grant, the following requirements must be fulfilled:

• Application can be submitted by senior academics (senior lecturer/associate professor or above).
• At the time of allocation of the grant, you must be employed at a university outside Denmark.
• You must be able to document your intended collaboration with one or more researchers at a Danish research institution (a letter of support from the collaborating host principal investigator should be included).
• You must have an academic degree at PhD level or higher.
• You must have an excellent academic record.
• You must be able to document teaching experience.
• You must be willing to teach/give lectures or participate in organising education or networking activities offered by DDEA and/or review applications for DDEA.

Affiliation to a Danish research institution or a life-science company Denmark is a prerequisite.
