The Department of Psychology at Stockholm University is a creative, international, and diverse workplace for education and research in psychology and related fields. We conduct successful research on everything that affects the individual, from genes and the brain, stress and health, to organization and society. The department has advanced laboratories for, among other things, sleep research and sensory research. Collaboration with local, national, and international researchers is extensive, and we have a constant exchange of guest students and researchers from around the world.

Project description
The position is associated with the project “Opportunities and hindrances to conducting business in Sweden” (see project description here), bridging organizational psychology and entrepreneurship. The project is led by Researcher Constanze Eib and Professor Claudia Bernhard-Oettel. We wish to hire a researcher for the final year of the project to support data analysis and preparation of co-authored manuscripts.

Main responsibilities
As a researcher in this project, responsibilities will primarily include: 1) data analysis of quantitative and qualitative data as well as 2) writing and preparing manuscripts based on the data. Other responsibilities may also include supporting further data collection efforts, preparation of new funding grants, communication/dissemination of results.

Qualification requirements
Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

Assessment criteria
We are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. in disciplines such as Psychology, Entrepreneurship, Management, Sociology or related fields. Doctoral degree must be completed before taking up the position.

Strong candidates will exhibit the ability to publish in international peer-reviewed journals in their disciplines. This will be evidenced by their publications and research pipeline. It is a merit if candidates have documented knowledge in quantitative (structural equation modelling, person-oriented methods, growth curve modelling or related techniques) and qualitative (thematic analysis, IPA or related methods) methodology.

Special attention will be given to past research experience, particularly research publications in international peer-reviewed journals on applied psychology, organizational psychology, management, entrepreneurship, sociology, or related journals. Experience in advanced quantitative and/or qualitative methodology is of particular merit. Experience in data collection with employees, managers, entrepreneurs, business owners is also of merit as is experience in communicating research findings to the general public and/or to other stakeholder groups (e.g., scientific, professional, and/or policy audiences).

Further assessment criteria include excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as written and oral fluency in English. Fluency in Swedish as well as an interest in an academic/research career are further merits. 

Terms of employment
This is a full-time (part-time work is negotiable) fixed-term position from 2025-01-31 (or as per agreement) until 2025-12-31.
