Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE) is an AACSB-accredited business school and one of the six faculties of the University of Jyväskylä. 

We are seeking a Senior Lecturer, economics, starting on 1 January 2025 or as agreed in effective until further notice.  

The main duties of the Senior Lecturer focus on teaching and research in the field of microeconomics. Teaching responsibilities cover the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels. The Senior Lecturer also supervises theses, participates in obtaining external funding, and manages administrative duties. The Senior Lecturer's research is part of the activities of the Empirical Microeconomics (EME) research group in economics.

Who we are looking for

The applicants must have a relevant doctoral degree, evidence of independent empirical research in microeconomics, and the ability to provide high-quality research-based teaching and supervise theses. 

Relevant practical experience and a proven track record in economics research that supports decision-making are considered advantages. Additionally, evidence of international networking is also considered beneficial. 

The duties, qualification requirements, and language skills of Senior Lecturer are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. The University may grant an exemption from the language requirements if necessary.

The annual salary range will be 49,000 - 57,000 EUR (gross income, including a holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.
