YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES 
At SAL, we aim to design unobtrusive wearable systems that can detect diseases from sweat biomarkers. To improve the user experience and ensure portability, different printed electronics need to be interconnected to stimulate sweat production, perform sensor readout, and transmit signals wirelessly.  

The aim of this position is to assist the integration of  printed & flexible batteries, microfluidics, and printed antennas, with a silicon-based chip to ensure proper functionality of the developed wearable.  

The following activities will be partaken: 
  • Perform literature review (scientific articles, patents, etc.) to gain insights into the latest advancements in wearable technologies for healthcare. 
  • Perform laboratory and printing tasks according to project needs. 
  • Support in process development for different functional inks and printers (Inkjet, Screen Printer, Pad Printer, Aerosol Jet, …) 
  • Support PCB and electronic design and tests compatibility of different printed components
  • Perform data analysis and prepare detailed reports. 
YOUR PROFILE
  • Completed apprenticeship (with min. 5 years of work experiences in related field),  Bachelor or Master degree in engineering (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Biotechnology, or related fields) 
  • Software skills: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Python, Eagle, etc.
  • Fluent in English, German optional
  • Experience with laboratory experimental set ups (printed electronics a plus)
  • Strong analytical skills to conduct thorough data analysis and provide comprehensive reports. 
  • Experience with CAD and PCB layout tools
  • Microcontroller programming a plus
  • Collaboration, teamwork, and eagerness to learn. 
  • Good communication skills in English.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group E. We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications. For this position, your minimum monthly gross salary starts with EUR 3.827, paid 14 times a year.
