Job description

Research areas will be within advanced knowledge management and informatics, project management, and Nature Based Solutions. The research should aim at bridging the gap between design and construction in urban sustainability projects. This implies a research perspective combining digital mock-ups and design models as well as construction of real-world solutions in a professional interdisciplinary context involving end-users and local stakeholders. Candidates are expected to have a PhD in civil engineering, surveying or environmental science, or related fields, and to have a solid understanding of the architectural, engineering and construction industry, collaboration processes, and the use of information and communication technologies. The Assistant Professor is expected to contribute to interdisciplinary and applied research on how to design using digital tools and novel technologies, like digital twins and generative AI. Experience with 3D Building Information Models(BIM) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) will be highly valued. Insight into Nature Based Solutions and climate adaptation will be considered a strength, as the research empirically engages with development processes and implementation of solutions within this specific urban context. In this regard, research experiences relating to urban planning and governance will be beneficial. Research experience evidenced by authorship in scientific publications as well as proven experience of project application and fundraising will be highly valued.

Teaching will primarily be in the bachelor programme in Urban, Energy and Environmental Planning(in Danish) and the master’s programme in Urban Planning and Management as well as in Cities and Sustainability (both in English), but also in other study programmes at the University.
